Training....

Just thought we should update the blog to highlight that we have in fact done some walking in preparation for the May trek.

We are super lucky to hike almost every week, even during the winter months.  The late snow this year led to some training treks around town.  We sport our hikers that will be worn for the trip while out grocery shipping or running errands, in hopes that they are completely broken in and will minimize our blisters.  Note, we plan for blisters, minimization and quick recovery are the goals.

The pictures below were a Monday, April 8th hike in Sandy McNabb, Death Valley trail.  There was still some white stuff to be found - hoping we will not encounter this during our Scotland days. Cedric Digory is always a willing training partner!

Also to note, Kir had gallbladder surgery on April 12th as preparation for the hike - lol!  My partner is a trooper and will be set to go by May 10th - stronger than ever!

With the boys gone and almost five days into their adventure, we are feeling the trip approach even more quickly!  Cannot wait to be back in Scotland!
